What if my pet has two microchips implanted? Should one be removed?

There is no need to remove a microchip if your pet has more than one.  In the event two microchips are implanted in your pet, they will not interfere with each other or affect the way the pet is scanned.  Because of its rarity, veterinarians and shelters don’t typically continue to look for a second microchip once the scanner has detected the presence of one so we recommend that you have both microchips registered since you never know which will be detected first!
