My pet was registered by my vet — how do I add it to my name and update the details? | How do I take over an account my vet created for my pet?

If your vet, shelter, or rescue registered your pet in your name, you don't need a transfer and there's no fee. Use Find my Account.

Step 1 — Access your account

You can quickly regain access to your account by using the "Find my Account" tool.

Type your pet's microchip number here: https://www.petlink.net/account/forgot-username/.

If your pet is registered, the page will show part of the email linked to your account, for example ki***@***l.com. We'll send instructions via that email so you can quickly regain access to your account.

If you don't recognize the email, let us know. You'll need to contact us with at petlink@petlink.net with your microchip number so we can retrieve your account.

Step 2 — Update your pet's details

Once logged in, click on "View Profile" under your pet's name. Update what is needed by clicking the "Edit" button on the appopriate menu.
