What is the barcode sticker? | Where do I find my microchip number?

The barcode sticker is an official label that comes in the same packaging as your pet's microchip. It contains your pet's 15-digit microchip number and is the most reliable way to reference it. Your vet may have also provided a printed document or written note with the same number.

You need the microchip number to register your pet with PetLink. The barcode sticker is just one way to find it — any record from your vet or shelter showing the number is valid. If you already have a PetLink account, you can also find the microchip number listed in your pet's profile.

If you don't have the number from any source, PetLink cannot look it up for you. You'll need to take your pet to a vet or shelter to have the chip scanned before you can register.
