Why did I receive a found pet notice if my pet is not missing?

First, please make sure your pet is accounted for and is not missing.

If your pet is definitely home safe, there are two likely explanations:

  1. The finder gave us an incorrect microchip number that happens to be registered to your pet.
  2. The microchip number registered on your account does not match the chip actually implanted in your pet.

Either way, there is likely another pet out there that needs help. Please call us at 1-877-PETLINK (738-5465) so we can verify your pet's microchip number and follow up with the finder.
